University Formula SAE Racing Teams
Swagelok Central Ontario supports the efforts of future engineers through the sharing of knowledge and high quality Swagelok products. Our involvement with the Formula SAE Racing Teams at the University of Toronto and Carleton University in Ottawa has been mutually beneficial. Our knowledgeable associates have had the opportunity to teach students how to safely and properly install and handle fluid system products. The students have given us an inside peek at their processes and how their teams meet the challenge to deliver a high performing race car every year.

University of Toronto Aerospace Team (UTAT)
Swagelok Central Ontario also supports UTAT's Rocketry Team. This team competes in the exciting Intercollegiate Rocket Engineering Competition (IREC). The emphasis of the IREC is for
student design and construction of as many parts of the rocket as possible, including propulsion, structures, avionics, recovery, and payloads. UTAT competes in the Basic Category, where the
objective is to send a 10lb payload to an altitude of 10,000ft, and have it recovered safety. Extra points are awarded for student built components, and reusability.
Our knowledgeable associates have engaged the team with training and product support with a focus on safety and reliability.

The BLOODHOUND Project
The BLOODHOUND Project is a global Engineering Adventure, using a 1000mph world land speed record attempt to inspire the next generation to enjoy, explore and get involved in science, technology, engineering and mathematics. The design is a mix of car and aircraft technology, with the front section being a carbon fibre monocoque (like a racing car) and the back portion being a metallic framework and panels (like an aircraft). Swagelok Bristol in the UK sponsors the project and Swagelok Central Ontario associates were lucky enough to see the car close up during a recent visit to Toronto. See a picture from our visit on the Our People page.
